21km trail, 10km trail and 3km obstacle trail run for U13's. These runs are picturesque and seemingly made for trail running. The trails have been carefully selected by MRTR to introduce runners to some of the best trails in the area, and stand in stark contrast to the Fifth Leg in style. The run features firm surfaces, are not too technical and are all very runnable - even for the novice trail runner. However there is just enough spice in the runs to make it interesting for the more experienced trail runner.

The course will be marked, marshalled and drinks (water and gel) will be available. You will be timed, and prizes will be awarded. Wharncliffe Mill has a large undercover area for presentations.

The 10km is the first 9km of the half and the last 1km. Trails are a mixture of old 4WD racks and single track. There are quite a few short hills - the largest fortuitously right at the end. You will run through Marri, Jarrah and Karri Forests, with some Pine on the edges. While you will be running through the single track heaven of MTB riding in WA you will not in general be using the groomed downhill trails - mostly the trails around the edge and the cross country trails. There is no repeat trail, and no boring bits.

We are STRONGLY encouraging all participants to stay at Wharncliffe. You will need to stay (or pay) for 2 nights, but Wharncliffe are offing 3 nights for the price of 2. We hardly need remind you of the many delights of visiting Margaret River, but we suggest once you spy the single tracks all around the course you will want to try them out. So bring your MTB or hire one from Wharncliffe. Be warned - some of the down-hills are very challenging.

Stay at Wharncliffe

You will need to contact them directly and say you are in the Wharncliffe Run, as they are keeping all bookings for competitors. Therefore the Wharncliffe website says they have sold out, but they are in fact waiting for your call. Wharncliffe Web Page.
